The Regina Dawah Association centre, small and far away on the open prairie at dusk.

A house of prayer with its doors open to Regina.

إِنَّمَا يَعْمُرُ مَسَاجِدَ اللَّهِ مَنْ آمَنَ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ

“The mosques of Allah are only to be maintained by those who believe in Allah and the Last Day.”

At-Tawbah 9:18

The centre

A mosque first. Then classrooms, a multipurpose room with its own kitchen, and a front door that anyone in Regina can walk through.

For Muslims in Regina

A place to pray all five prayers in congregation, learn the Qur’an properly and raise children who feel at home in their faith. Imams, teachers and volunteers who know your name.

For our neighbours

An open door on a weekday afternoon, a free dinner on Friday nights and straight answers to honest questions about Islam. Nobody here will ask why you came.

The prayer hall: limestone walls, tall arched windows on both sides, a pointed-arch mihrab with an oak minbar, and a deep green carpet marked in rows.

The prayer hall

Light from both sides. Room for everyone in the row.

The hall faces the qibla through a plain limestone mihrab. Nothing on the walls competes with the prayer. Tall arched windows let the light in, from Fajr in January to Isha in June.

Charity that keeps giving

إِذَا مَاتَ الإِنْسَانُ انْقَطَعَ عَنْهُ عَمَلُهُ إِلَّا مِنْ ثَلَاثَةٍ

“When a person dies, their deeds come to an end, except three: ongoing charity, knowledge that benefits, and a righteous child who prays for them.”

The Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him · Sahih Muslim
